In 1971 the famous watch designer Gerald Genta was set the challenge to design a a stainless steel sports watch for the Italian markets which were suitable for any occasion, with the caveat being it was required for the following morning. Come morning Gerald had completed his designs for the Royal Oak, which he later articulates as 'the masterpiece of his career'. Often considered to be the first luxury sports watch, the Royal Oak was first introduced in 1972, at none other that the Baselworld watch fair. The watch was inspired by the portholes found on boats and features exposed screw heads, unique case design and an integral stainless steel link bracelet.

This iteration of the famed Royal Oak, reference 56175ST.O.0789ST.08 comes set in a versatile 33mm brushed steel case with iconic integrated link bracelet and classic butterfly folding clasp.  Featuring the white Grande Tapisserie dial, white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating. The date aperture can be found at 3 o'clock, with the dial itself protected by a flat glare proof sapphire crystal. Powered by a Calibre 2612 quartz movement.

Originally purchased in June 2008 and is supplied in mint condition, with light marks on the bezel, this watch comes with its original inner and outer boxes, warranty booklet and instruction booklet. This watch is sold with our 12-month warranty.
