In 1901 the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont complained of his difficulty checking the time on his pocket watch while flying to his friend Louis Cartier. Three years later with his friend in mind Cartier revolutionised watchmaking by inventing the first purpose-designed modern wristwatch which has grown alongside the brand ever since.

This watch sports a stainless steel case equipped with a matching integrated link bracelet with iconic screw detailing. The square silver dial features all of the design points that you would expect from a Cartier watch; large Roman hour markers, cabochon set crown, inner minute track and blue sword-shaped hands. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and is water-resistant to 30m.

Originally purchased circa 2006, the watch comes supplied in mint condition with the original red Cartier box and SWC authenticity card.
