Developed in 1967, waterproof to a depth of 610 metres (2000 feet) initially and then to 1220 metres (4000 feet) in 1978. When the Hydra VIII mission by Comex set the world open-sea diving record at a depth of 534 metres in 1988, the watch that accompanied the divers on their mission was a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller chronometer. This model was standard equipment for the world leader in marine engineering and has remained a firm favourite with Rolex fans.

New to 2019 this new model comes in yellow gold and stainless steel throughout.

Featuring the classic black dial, luminous hands and hour markers made to be visible in all lights, date window and presented in stainless steel case with yellow gold bezel with matching stainless steel and gold Oyster bracelet.

In unworn condition with stickers still intact, this watch is supplied with the original Rolex boxes, instruction manual, swing tags and Rolex warranty card. Originally purchased in July 2019 the watch benefits from a manufacturers guarantee until July 2024.
