3 days ago- To summarise: whether you're the kind of person who prefers to wear a suit or jeans; whether you're buying for yourself or gifting to someone, or selling a watch you already have; whether you're not sure and you just want some open, honest, professional watch advice then definitely consider them first. I recommend them and would absolutely use them again, I've visited other watch places in the past but SWC have been by far the best. They are friendly, knowledgeable, genuine and good value. Read on for a more in depth review of my personal experience. I've used SWC in the past to buy a watch. Just the other day I used them again. This time I've decided to leave a useful review to help others who are considering them. One of the great things is that they have an online platform AND a bricks and mortar office so you can choose what is most comfortable for you. The watch descriptions and high-resolution pictures online are really accurate and match the in-person assessment, but if you're left with any burning questions after viewing online then they are easily contactable by email/phone. I emailed them a few times with questions about a few watches I was interested in and Dee and Tim happily replied swiftly everytime. After online viewing I decided to visit the offices as that's my preference, they were really accommodating and flexible with arranging a time around what was convenient to me. I'm not a rich, but I work hard for my money and I'm a simple plain guy, so it was so refreshing to meet the team and be treated in a professional yet down to earth manner by everyone. No hard sell, no snobbery; I was made to feel at ease. I had more questions ranging from if/what/why/how/when and once again they were happy to answer. John is clearly passionate about watches and he even gave me some tips on storage. The watch I bought was fairly priced compared to other places and they explained why the pricing of a same model watch may be more/less elsewhere. The overall service, peace of mind when dealing with someone in person and the all advice I received meant when I parted with my money it was a non-painful experience and I felt I got my money's worth. Whilst there, I took the opportunity to ask Tim about what if I were to sell my previous watch through them. He talked me through the process and gave me an idea of value and said they were happy to sell it for me, but was super honest in telling me that whilst they could sell it for me I was actually better off holding off from selling, as the watch I owned had become collectible and price was sure to rise more and that there was a better time of year to sell. Because of the overall experience, if I was ever not London based I'd still be really comfortable dealing with them just using their online method if I couldn't get to their office. I've tried to think of some negatives, but I really couldn't come up with any apart from the weather being rather cold on the day I visited them, but that's not their fault! Dealing with them more than once now with no issues, I get the genuine feeling that if things ever did not run to plan (as these things can sometimes happen) then they'd do everything possible to solve an issue positively. I hope this review is practical and useful to others.
