: A successor to the "Mark XI" was needed. And the "Mark XII" was born. It was decided that it should be robust, but not clumsy. Special, but not complicated. Prestigious, but not flashy. Qualities reminiscent of its predecessor, certainly. However, if the watch was to be fully suitable for use on land and sea and in the air, it was clear that these qualities could only be achieved after considerable modifications to the inside and outside of the watch. Which is why the "Mark XII" is fitted with the superb calibre 844 automatic movement, adjusted in five positions, and why it features a soft iron inner case, making it virtually impervious to magnetic fields. It has a date display with rapid adjustment, a stopwatch seconds hand, and a power reserve of 45 hours. With its screw-in crown, the "Mark XII" is water-resistant to 50m and fitted with a sapphire glass and leather strap.
