Excellent Condition for Wartime Watch
Circa 1940
Luftwaffe 'Beobachtungsuhr' Observers Watch
Issued by the German Air Ministry during World War II
Issued to Air Crews for specific long range flying missions
Black Dial
With the outbreak of W.W.II the Air Ministry (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) recognized the need for an efficient observer watch (Beobachtungsuhr) to be used for astronomical navigation, assisting crews of long range flying missions. Brass case with thick nickel-silver plated finish. Supply contract number FL 23883 on side of case. Case number and movement number identical.
Fitted with original war time strap which was long enough for the watch to be worn over a flying jacket.
Please Note - The strap has been cut and can now only be worn on the wrist
