We are proud to present this Pictet & Cie 200th Anniversary Special Edition Audemars Piguet Royal Oak for sale in mint condition. 

In 1971 the famous watch designer Gerald Genta was set the challenge to design a stainless steel sports watch for the Italian markets which were suitable for any occasion, with the caveat being it was required for the following morning. Come morning Gerald had completed his designs for the Royal Oak, which he later articulates as 'the masterpiece of his career'. Often considered to be the first luxury sports watch, the Royal Oak was first introduced in 1972, at none other than the Baselworld watch fair. The watch was inspired by the portholes found on boats and features exposed screw heads, unique case design and an integral stainless steel link bracelet.

This iteration of the Royal Oak, reference 15189ST.OO.D083CU.01 is a special edition commemorating the double centenary of 'Pictet & Cie' a Swiss multinational private bank. This 200th anniversary edition comes set in a 36mm stainless steel case fitted with the iconic porthole inspired octagonal bezel with exposed screws. It's silver opaline dial features the now iconic Grande Tapisserie texture, as well as applied luminous indexes, matching hands and the classic date aperture at 3 o'clock. These details are protected by a flat sapphire crystal and driven by the automatic calibre 2225 movement, which is safeguarded by a commemorative Pictet & Cie embossed caseback. Lastly, this special edition is completed by a brown leather strap with a polished deployment clasp. 

Originally purchased in May 2005 and in mint condition for its age, a few very light marks present on the bezel and shoulders. supplied with its original red commemorative Pictet & Cie outer presentation box as well as its AP inner and outer boxes, a Pictet special edition booklet, instruction booklet, service centre booklet and its original international warranty booklet.
