Breitling Navitimer Chrono Matic Vintage, 1808

We are proud to present the Breitling Chronomat Chrono-Matic.

In the 1960’s the race was on between the big movement manufacturers to be the first to produce an automatic chronograph and in 1969 at Baselworld Breitling debuted the Chrono-Matic. Fitted with their patented Calibre 11 self-winding chronograph mechanism with a date feature.

This example is set in the larger 47mm ‘pizza-shaped’ case as it is known, which was developed specially to house the new larger Calibre 11 movement. It is fitted with a bi-rotational bezel that is combined with the iconic slide-rule scale and features a clean black dial with applied silver baton hour markers and contrasting white hands. The twin sub-dials allow for time measurement up to 12 hours and the right sub-dial features a striking orange hand which matches the larger split-second hand. Fitted with a domed acrylic plexiglass and powered by the Calibre 11 automatic movement on a new black stitched Breitling leather strap with a genuine Breitling deployment buckle.

The caseback engraving is crisp and features the patent code DDE.BR. 11525/67 and the model reference 1808.

It is in mint condition for its age and would be a great piece for any Breitling enthusiast.
