We are proud to present this stylish Bremont Hawking Limited Edition white gold watch for sale.
The classically styled Bremont Hawking Limited Edition watch features a retrograde seconds hand and grand date, contains 4 wooden discs inlaid into the back of the watch taken from the desk at which Hawking contemplated the mysteries of the universe, one of his most treasured possessions.
This watch also contains some meteorite to symbolise the cosmos which can be seen at the centre of the striking hand-finished exhibition case back, as well as an etching of stars from the night sky in Oxford, on 8th January 1942, the date that Hawking was born. The watch’s serial number is printed on paper from original copies of a 1979 seminal research paper commonly referred to as “The ‘nuts’ and ‘bolts’ of gravity”, co-written with one of Hawking’s longest serving collaborators, Professor Gary Gibbons, that sought to understand the thermal properties of black holes.
Housed within is the unique BE-33AE movement, with 42-hour power reserve. Only 88 white gold and blue dial pieces will be made; the numbers referencing the year in which Hawking’s “Brief History of Time” was published, 1988. It is set in a polished 41mm solid 18ct white gold case and comes fitted on a matching blue alligator leather strap with a white gold pin buckle. The dial is a striking blue colour with a spiral ‘black hole’ etching and is protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass.
Originally purchased in December 2020 and in unworn condition, this Bremont comes with its original outer box, inner leather case, letter of authenticity, original sales invoice, Bremont mechanical pencil, keyring and warranty booklet.
