We are proud to present this impressive IWC Ingenieur 'Plastiki' Mission Earth Limited Edition for sale in mint condition. 

First launched in 1955, the Ingenieur was IWC's first purpose built watch to combat both moisture and the magnetic effects encountered in scientific and industrial workplaces, hence the name 'Ingenieur' (engineer). The watch was eventually redesigned in 1976 by the iconic watch designer Gérald Genta, who is responsible for the design of some of most influential sports watches ever produced, such as the Patek Philippe Nautilus and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Through his unique outlook on watch design Genta successfully put his stamp on the Ingenieur, which to this day remains true to the legendary watch designers artistic vision. 

This iteration of the Ingenieur, reference IW323603 is a limited edition of 1000 pieces which commemorates the feat of British Adventurer David de Rothschild and his crew, who sailed across the Pacific in a one of a kind catamaran called the Plastiki. Coming set in a 46mm stainless steel case fitted with a blue rubber strap secured by a pin buckle. The blue textured dial features orange accents which match the orange hour indexes and hands, with the dial completed by a date feature at 3 o'clock. The watch is powered by the automatic Calibre 80110 movement which is protected by a closed commemorative caseback adorned by the insignia of the Plastiki. 

Originally sold in circa 2009 and in mint condition, this Ingenieur is sold with its original inner and outer boxes, as well as both of its instruction booklets, an IWC cloth and its original IWC warranty card (blank).
