The Mark series of watches were designed in accordance with military specifications and nowadays have reached a cult status that few wristwatches attain. IWC’s first proper purpose-built pilots watch was produced in 1936 and followed up nearly a decade later with the MOD commissioned Mark X (the official start of the Mark series). The watch adhered to specific military requirements in terms of robustness and dial layout. That simplistic, legible layout has become a staple of the entire range subsequently and is what has ensured the longevity of the whole collection by appealing to many aviation/military enthusiasts.

This version the Mark XVIII Heritage has been in production since 2017 and differs from the original Mark XVIII slightly. It is set in a 40mm titanium case rather than stainless steel giving it a more utilitarian feel. The chapter ring, hour markers and hands have a vintage “aged” luminous colouring to them and are complemented with blue-steel hands as can found on vintage watches of the past. The dial has a date feature at 3 o’clock and is protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass with antireflective coating on both sides. The watch has a water resistance of 6atm (60m/200ft) and comes fitted on a handsome brown calfskin strap with contrasting stitching and a matte titanium pin buckle.

Originally purchased in October 2022 and in Unworn condition, this IWC comes with its original inner & outer boxes, instruction manual, IWC Santoni booklet and international warranty card. It is protected under IWC extended warranty until October 2030.
