IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph Spitfire, IW387903

We are proud to present this stylish IWC Pilot's Spitfire Chronograph watch for sale in mint condition.

The Pilots series of watches were designed in accordance with military specifications and nowadays have reached a cult status that few wristwatches attain. IWC’s first proper purpose-built pilots watch was produced in 1936 and followed up nearly a decade later with the MOD commissioned Mark X (the official start of the Mark series). The watch adhered to specific military requirements in terms of robustness and dial layout. That simplistic, legible layout has become a staple of the entire range subsequently and is what has ensured the longevity of the whole collection by appealing to many aviation/military enthusiasts.

This Spitfire iteration of the Pilots Chronograph, reference IW387903 comes in an ergonomic brushed 41mm stainless steel case with a smooth satin finished bezel. The dial is a clean black with large luminous contrasting Arabic numerals and matching sabre hands, as well as a legible black day/date aperture at 3 o’clock and triple chronograph sub-dials at 12/6/9 with contrasting white printed numerals for measuring up to 12 hours. These details are protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass and powered by the IWC calibre 69380 automatic movement. Lastly, the watch comes supplied on a worn brown calf leather strap with cream stitching and IWC pin buckle.

Originally purchased in August 2021 and in mint condition with only minor wear present on the caseback and bezel. Coming supplied as a full set with both its inner and outer boxes, both booklets, cleaning cloth and international warranty card. 

This Pilots chronograph is covered by its IWC extended warranty until August 2029.
