The Pilots series of watches were designed in accordance with military specifications and nowadays have reached a cult status that few wristwatches attain. IWC’s first proper purpose-built pilots watch was produced in 1936 and followed up nearly a decade later with the MOD commissioned Mark X (the official start of the Mark series). The watch adhered to specific military requirements in terms of robustness and dial layout. 

This version the reference IW395505, comes in a 46mm Ceratanium Case with world 'timezoner' bezel which can be used to adjust time zones quickly without use of the crown. The dial is a crisp black colour with large luminous contrasting Arabic numerals and dagger hands. The dial is finished off with a legible date aperture at 3 o’clock, a 24 hour time aperture at 12 o'clock and is protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass. It is powered by the IWC calibre 82760 automatic movement which is visible through the tinted exhibition caseback and comes fitted on a black rubber strap with ‘textile’ inlay. This piece is a limited production of only 500 per year. 

Originally purchased circa 2021 (undated card) and in unworn condition for its age, this IWC comes with its original inner & outer boxes, cleaning cloth, instruction booklet, warranty booklet and warranty card. This IWC is covered under it's manufacturer warranty until 2023 but this can be extended until 2029.
