That first Seamaster established the foundations of a collection that would go on to become one of Omega’s most enduring and respected lines, celebrated for its reliability, maritime-inspired engineering, and timeless aesthetic. The Seamaster name has since accompanied ocean explorers, military units, and countless enthusiasts who value precision and understated elegance.

For the London 2012 Olympic Games, Omega created this special limited edition as a tribute to the very first Seamaster. Limited to 1,948 pieces, this model artfully bridges the past and present. Its commemorative caseback features an 18ct yellow gold medallion, beautifully embossed with the official London 2012 Olympic emblem, creating a meaningful connection between the origins of the Seamaster and Omega’s long-standing role as the Olympic Games’ official timekeeper.

The watch is housed in a 39mm vintage-inspired stainless steel case, complete with polished bezel and a crown bearing the period-correct 1948 Omega logo. The silver opaline dial is decorated with applied white gold hour markers, Arabic numerals at the quarters, and leaf hands, accompanied by a blued-steel small seconds hand in the sub-dial at 6 o’clock. These classic elements are powered by the Omega calibre 2202, a chronometer-certified Co-Axial movement known for its accuracy and mechanical refinement.

The piece is fitted with a black alligator leather strap secured by a stainless steel pin buckle, complementing the vintage styling while providing modern wearing comfort.

Originally sold in December 2011, this limited edition example is supplied in mint condition with its inner and outer presentation boxes, cardholder, operating instructions, Limited Series card, international warranty card, pictogram card and chronometer certificate card.
