The Speedmaster CK2998 holds a cherished place in the legacy of Omega's iconic chronographs. Introduced in 1959, it marked a pivotal moment in horological history as one of the earliest models in the Speedmaster lineage. Its design, characterized by its elegant simplicity and practicality, quickly garnered acclaim, especially among motorsport enthusiasts and aviation professionals. Renowned for its association with space exploration, the CK2998 became NASA's choice for space missions, laying the foundation for the legendary Speedmaster's journey to the moon. Today, it stands as a timeless symbol of precision engineering and adventure.

This iteration of the Speedmaster, reference 311.33.40.30.02.001 was launched in 2016 and comes set in a 39.7mm stainless steel case with a blue ceramic bezel garnered with a contrasting silver tachymeter scale. The silver dial features contrasting blue chapter ring and chronograph sub-dials, with the iconic 'alpha' hands and applied baton indexes. The watch is fitted with a raised sapphire crystal glass, which mimics the original plexi-glass crystal of the original model. The watch is powered by the manual wind calibre 1861 chronograph mechanism and protected by an embossed caseback featuring the iconic Omega Hippocampus logo. Lastly, it is completed by a matching blue alligator leather strap with polished steel Omega pin buckle.

Originally purchased in December 2016 and in mint condition, supplied with its original inner & outer boxes, instruction booklet, grey card holder, limited edition certificate, original purchase receipt, additional blue alligator strap, pictogram and international warranty card.
