The Omega Speedmaster stands as an iconic timepiece with a rich heritage and an enduring legacy in the realm of horology. Renowned as the "Moonwatch," the Speedmaster achieved global fame for being the first watch worn on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. Beyond its extraterrestrial connection, this chronograph has consistently embodied precision, durability, and timeless design since its inception in 1957. However, the models produced before 1969 have become extremely collectable and are known as ‘pre-moon’ watches. This version the ST105.003, nicknamed “Ed White” after its famous wearer, the NASA astronaut Edward Higgins White (who during the Gemini 4 mission became the first NASA astronaut to take a spacewalk). It was the last version to not have the word ‘Professional’ printed on the dial, and was produced from 1963 until approx. 1969. It comes set in a 40mm stainless steel case with the straight lugs (last version to have these lugs) and has a fixed black tachymetre bezel. The dial is original and features the applied silver Omega logo and is a clean black finish with contrasting white minute/split second markers and aged 'creamy' luminous baton hour markers. White sword hands with sub-dials at 3/6/9 complete the dial, which is protected by a genuine Omega plexi -glass. Powered by the legendary Omega calibre 321 manual chronograph mechanism, which is protected by a solid caseback featuring a the Hippocampus logo (later replaced by the NASA caseback). Lastly, the watch is completed by the stainless steel flat link 7912 bracelet, secured by the classic fold over Omega clasp. 

Originally produced in 1967 (dated from serial) and fine condition considering its age, this Speedmaster comes with our branded SWC watch roll, SWC authenticity card and our 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.
