We are proud to present this stunning Omega Speedmaster Professional 'TinTin' Moonwatch for sale.

The Omega Speedmaster made history when it recorded mans first steps on the Moons surface back in 1969, and from that moment this watch has been known for its reliability and durability around the world. Having been a part of all six lunar missions, the legendary Speedmaster is the representation of the brand’s adventurous pioneering spirit along with proving just how robust the watch is.

This particular edition of the iconic Speedmaster professional was originally intended to celebrate the well known fictional lunar explorer Tintin. Specifically the 16th volume of Tintin adventures 'Destination Moon', which was first published in 1950, just shy of 20 years prior to Apollo 11. The rocket which featured in this Tintin volume featured distinctive checked red and white paintwork, and was where the inspiration for the the minute track of this Speedmaster originated as well as the reason for the red inscriptions engraved on the caseback. The dial was also originally intended to display a rocket at eleven o’clock, however the collaborative talks with the owners of the Hergé estate soon fell apart, leaving only one completed example which is unfortunately not for public view. Due to the short lived nature of this collaboration, the was was eventually called the 'Omega Speedmaster Professional Racing' and were sold in very low numbers, making this both a great investment and also a modern classic.

This Omega Speedmaster Professional “Moonwatch” comes set in a 42mm stainless steel case and fixed bezel with Tachymetric scale. Features a black dial with red and white minute track bannering, triple chronograph subdials, luminous baton indicators and hands, aswell as being protected by a domed hesalite crystal. The watch is powered by the manual wind calibre 1861 movement and comes fitted on the classic brushed/polished stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp, and is water-resistant to 5atm (50m/164ft).

Originally purchased in December 2015 and in mint condition, the watch comes with its original red inner and outer box, instruction booklet, cream card holder, pictogram and international warranty cards. This Speedmaster is sold with our 12-month warranty.

My first purchase from watches.co.uk but certainly won't be my last. I was ably assisted throughout the process by Tim who went above and beyond to get the deal right for me and my purchasing preferences. The watch itself was exactly as described and arrived within 24 hours. A genuinely wonderful experience from start to finish and in truth I'm already watching the site for what will be my next purchase.
