In 1935, the Royal Italian Navy enlisted Panerai and other distinguished watchmakers to create a timepiece that could withstand the harshest conditions, ensuring precise timekeeping for the elite frogman commandos of the First Submarine Group Command. The challenge was to craft a watch capable of maintaining accuracy under extreme circumstances, all while providing exceptional legibility even in the depths of the ocean. In response, Panerai unveiled the prototype in 1936, aptly named the Radiomir after the luminescent substance illuminating its hands and indices. This remarkable timepiece not only met but exceeded all expectations during rigorous testing, solidifying its place in history as a triumph of precision engineering and functionality.

This iteration of the Radiomir, reference PAM01350 comes set in a 45mm 'Patina Steel' case with a smooth matching bezel. The watch is fitted with the more traditional shaped screwdown crown based on the early models before Panerai’s patented crown-lock system was invented in 1955, and this ensures a water resistance of 10atm (100m/330ft). The Degradé beige sandwich dial features luminous hour markers, '12/3/6/9' Arabic numerals and matching hands. These details are protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass and powered by the manually wound calibre P.6000 mechanism. Lastly, the watch is completed by a Dark brown calf leather strap with white stitching and stainless steel pin-buckle. 

Originally sold in November 2024 and in unworn condition, supplied as a full set with its original inner and outer boxes, instruction/guarantee booklet, strap tool, retail barcodes and international warranty card.
