The definition of Swiss luxury and prestige in watch-making, Patek Philippe timepieces are widely considered, above all others, to be the most luxurious and special wristwatches available around the world. Unrivalled in their approach to perfection and craftsmanship, Patek Philippe watches are highly sought-after due to their quality, intrinsic value and the fact there are not many produced compared to other luxury watch manufacturers.

When launched in 1997, the Aquanaut created a sensation. It was young, modern and unexpected from such a “traditional” brand like Patek. Its case was a rounded octagon, inspired by that of the Nautilus. And it sported a “tropical” strap, made of a new composite material ultra-resistant to wear, salt water and UV radiation.

First introduced in 2018 the reference 5968A-001 was the first Aquanaut to feature an automatic flyback chronograph movement and quickly became a standout within the Aquanaut family. Set in a polished 42.2mm stainless steel case with a brushed bezel, the black/grey fusé dial features the classic embossed criss-cross texture with striking orange accents, block hour markers and hands with luminous filling. There is also applied full Arabic numerals and a date feature at 3 o’clock, which are protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass. The watch is powered by the Patek automatic calibre CH 28‑520 C movement, which is visible through an exhibition caseback. Waterproof up to 120M thanks to its screw-down crown the watch comes fitted on an orange ‘tropical’ composite strap featuring the same embossed pattern as the dial and completed by a polished stainless steel Patek triple-folding clasp. 

Originally purchased in November 2020 and in mint condition. The watch comes supplied with the original inner and outer boxes, Patek Philippe booklets, instruction manual, leather booklet, additional (new) black 'tropical' rubber strap  and certificate of origin. This Aquanaut is covered by our SWC 12-month warranty.
