Introduced in 1932, the Calatrava collection was born out of Patek Philippe's commitment to creating enduring classics with minimalist design and exceptional technical precision. Characterized by its clean lines, uncluttered dials, and slender profiles, the Calatrava exemplifies the essence of dress watches, suitable for both formal occasions and everyday wear. In 1884, the International Meridian Conference in Washington, D.C. established the system of standard time and the division of the globe into 24 time zones. Ever since, Patek Philippe’s engineers and watchmakers have been using their ingenuity to produce watches with multiple time zones that are both highly legible and easy to use. 

This iteration of the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time, reference 5524G-001 comes set in a polished 42mm solid 18ct white gold case with a smooth polished bezel and curved lugs. The crown is located at 3 o’clock and with the two lockable pushers at 8 and 10 o’clock, fluted for a slip-free grip. The two pushers are used for adjusting the second time-zone: The pusher at 8 o’clock moves the local hour hand forward one hour. While the pusher at 10 o’clock moves it back one hour. The rich navy blue dial features a varnished grain texture, applied luminous Arabic numerals in the 1930’s Pilots style edged in white gold, as well as blued steel hour and minute hands with contrasting white skeleton ‘Home’ time hand. There are also two day/night apertures for home and local times as well as a sub-dial at 6 o'clock for displaying the date. Powered by the automatic calibre 324 S C FUS movement, which is fitted with a 21k rotor and is visible through an exhibition caseback. Lastly, the watch is completed by a brown calf leather Patek strap with white gold Clevis pin buckle.

Originally sold in August 2018 and in mint condition following a full Patek Philippe service in December 2023. Coming supplied with its original inner and outer boxes, Patek registry booklet, Patek museum leaflet, collector leaflet, instruction booklet, leather document holder, retail swing tag, service pouch, service documents and original warranty certificate.
