Few watches represent refined luxury sports watchmaking quite like the Patek Philippe Nautilus. First introduced in 1976, the Nautilus became one of the most recognisable designs in modern horology, defined by its rounded octagonal bezel, porthole-inspired case construction, and horizontally embossed dial. Elegant, slim, and unmistakably distinctive, the Nautilus has remained one of Patek Philippe’s most desirable collections for decades.

This reference, 5712R-001, brings additional sophistication to the Nautilus design by combining the model’s iconic case profile with an elegant moonphase and power-reserve display. Housed in a 40mm 18ct rose gold case, the watch has a warm and luxurious presence on the wrist, balanced beautifully by its slim proportions and integrated strap design. The dial is finished in a rich brown-to-black gradient with the classic Nautilus horizontal embossed pattern, complemented by applied rose gold baton hour markers and matching luminous hands.

The dial layout is one of the most distinctive features of this model. A power-reserve indicator is positioned between 10 and 11 o’clock, while the small seconds display sits between 4 and 5 o’clock. At 7 o’clock, the larger sub-dial combines the date indicator with a beautifully integrated moonphase display, giving the watch a refined asymmetrical character while preserving the elegance of the Nautilus design.

Powering the watch is the ultra-thin Patek Philippe calibre 240 PS IRM C LU, a self-winding mechanical movement with an integrated 22ct gold micro-rotor, visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. This highly respected calibre offers a power reserve of approximately 38 to 48 hours and combines technical refinement with the slim profile expected from one of Patek Philippe’s most elegant complicated sports watches.

Originally purchased in March 2021, this Nautilus is presented in mint condition and has recently been serviced by Patek Philippe Salon in London in August 2026. It is supplied with both its inner and outer boxes, with the inner wooden box showing a small imperfection to the outside top, leather wallet, instruction booklets, Certificate of Origin, Patek Philippe service confirmation letter, additional genuine Patek Philippe black strap, and adjustment tool.
