Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Anniversary ULTRAMAN, 311.12.42.30.01.001

With an irreverent sense of fun and playfulness, this special Speedy Tuesday model celebrates the famous OMEGA Speedmaster that appeared in the Japanese science fiction TV show RETURN OF ULTRAMAN in 1971. Unworn, with manufacturer seals intact on the watch, and protected under warranty until 2020, this unusual and eccentric watch comes supplied as a complete set and boasts great provenance.

The 42mm case is stainless steel and features a black aluminium bezel with bright orange detailing. Other touches of orange can be found on the black aluminium dial, including the dots on the minute track, the the 3 o’clock sub dial, and the famous varnished Ultraman central chronograph hand with its dramatic black stripe.

Aiming to surprise and delight the wearer, the subdials of this watch do hold a few surprises - looking carefully at the seconds subdial to your left at 9 o'clock, you can see a silhouette of Ultraman's face - or can you? Utilising the strap changer, which is identical to Ultraman's Beta capsule, it features a UV light at one end, which when shined on the dial reveals Ultraman's face.

The watch is limited to just 2,012 pieces and is presented on a black and orange NATO strap. As well as having vintage OMEGA logos throughout the design, it is powered by the classic OMEGA Calibre 1861, which sits behind a caseback stamped with the OMEGA Seahorse medallion.

Supplied as a quirky, interesting and complete set, this timepiece comes with all original inner and outer presentation boxes, with a special orange and silver hexagonal display, which in itself is a tribute to the futuristic table used in the TV series. With stamped warranty and pictogram card, swing-tag, Beta Capsule style strap change tool with UV light, limited edition certificate, additional unworn Omega black leather strap with vintage steel Omega buckle, instruction booklet and original sales receipt.
