Originally launched in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date President has remained as the brand’s signature luxury watch. Exclusively crafted in precious metals, few luxury watches come close to the prestige, excellence, and timelessness of the Rolex President. When Rolex introduced the Day-Date, it was the first watch include the day of the week written in full at 12 o’clock along with the date window at 3 o’clock. Another hallmark of the Rolex Day-Date is its bracelet, officially named the ‘President’ bracelet. Characterized by its semi-circular links, the President bracelet is almost as famous as the timepiece itself, not to mention the icons who wore one.

This version the reference 18238 was originally launched in 1988 and was produced until the year 2000. The most noticeable change for this model was the addition of the new calibre 3155 movement which allowed a ‘double quickset’ of the day/date feature, making it even easier to use for the wearer. Still set in the classic 36mm Oyster case with a fluted bezel, this watch comes with a gold-coloured sunburst finished dial with applied baton hour markers with black printed Roman numerals. Sapphire crystal glass is fitted to the watch and on the iconic matching gold President bracelet.

Originally purchased in October 1989 and in fine condition considering its age, this Day-Date comes with its original inner and outer boxes (the outer box is in worn condition with a couple of rips, the inner box is perfect), original leather notepad, Day-Date instruction booklets, original swing tag, seal, leather wallet with calendar and the perforated warranty paper.
