The Explorer, launched in 1953, set itself apart with a simple design and a highly legible black dial with large hour markers and characteristic 3,6,9 numerals. It is a tool watch, created to tell time accurately, whatever the circumstances and has adorned the wrists of some of the greatest explorers undertaking incredible expeditions (like Sir Edmund Hillary to Mount Everest).

This reference the 214270 reference was launched in 2010 and is set in the modern 39mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel. The dial has a glossy black finish and is defined by its iconic applied 3,6,9 hour markers and Mercedes hour hand, all of which are fitted with Rolex’s Chromalight luminous filling for superior legibility. The glass is sapphire crystal and is fitted with a twin-lock screw down crown for water resistance up to 100M. It comes fitted on a matching stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding Oysterlock clasp.

Originally purchased in December 2018 and in mint condition, this Explorer comes with its original inner and outer boxes, swing tag, seal, instruction booklet and international warranty card. This Explorer is under Rolex manufacturers warranty until December 2023.
