Conceived by Hans Wilsdorf to pay tribute to World War II pilots, the Rolex Air-King boasts a remarkable production history spanning over seven decades. Pilots and fervent Rolex admirers alike have embraced the Air-King, with esteemed companies such as Pan-Am selecting these timepieces as retirement gifts for their pilots. The enduring legacy of the Air-King is a testament to its timeless design and the admiration it commands within aviation circles and beyond. 

This version of the famed Air-King, reference 5700, was first released in 1958 following the success of the non-date Air-King reference 5500 which was released the year before. Coming set in a 34mm stainless steel Oyster case with smooth polished bezel and fitted with a screwdown crown, ensuring the 10atm (100m/330ft) water resistance. The silver sunburst dial features a contrasting black minute track, applied baton indicators and matching hands, all protected by an acrylic plexi crystal. Driven by the automatic calibre 1535 and further safeguarded by solid screwdown caseback. Lastly, this Air-King Date is completed by the classic stainless steel Oyster bracelet with embossed crown clasp. 

Originally purchased in October 1979 and in fine condition due to minor wear on the clasp and caseback. Supplied with its original inner box, translation booklet, green plastic document wallet and blank international warranty certificate.
