Introduced in 1968, the Rolex Cellini lineup has been home to the brand’s non-Oyster dress watches. Rolex named the collection after the Florentine goldsmith, sculptor, and painter, Benvenuto Cellini, who was known for creating masterpieces during the Renaissance period that are still studied and celebrated today. The first Cellini models were slim gold dress watches with time-only dials powered by manual-winding movements. They were markedly different from the robust Rolex Oyster watches of the era and were not built with water-resistance in mind.

This version the ref.6681/9 was produced in the 1990’s and is no longer produced today. It comes in the unusual round shaped case with hinged lugs, that measures 32mm and is solid 18ct white gold. It features a 2-row fully diamond set bezel and has a striking silver coloured dial with the ‘Jubilee’ Rolex textured pattern, diamond dot hour markers and dauphine hands. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass and the watch is powered by a Rolex quartz movement. The watch comes fitted on a (new) black alligator leather strap with a matching white gold deployment clasp.

Originally purchased in April 2009 and in mint condition, this Cellini comes with its original inner & outer Rolex boxes, swing tag, leather warranty holder and international warranty card. It is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC and would be a great piece for any dress occasion.
