Rolex Cellini is a classically inspired watch for those who appreciate the subtle magnificence and sober classicism of its refined and elegant lines. Introduced in 1968, the Rolex Cellini lineup has been home to the brand’s non-Oyster dress watches. Rolex named the collection after the Florentine goldsmith, sculptor, and painter, Benvenuto Cellini, who was known for creating masterpieces during the Renaissance period that are still studied and celebrated today. The first Cellini models were slim gold dress watches with time-only dials powered by manual-winding movements. They were markedly different from the robust Rolex Oyster watches of the era and were not built with water-resistance in mind.The Cellini Collection is worlds away from the sportier models offered by Rolex. It is a watch created for those who choose the “path less travelled” and for whom less is more.

This version, reference. 4047 is a beautifully crafted traditional Rolex Cellini which comes set in a gorgeous 18ct yellow gold 27.5mm x 23mm oval case. The dial is a silver sunburst with no indicators and features 18ct sword hands and an elegant fixed bezel displaying minute/hour increments. The watch itself is powered by the iconic manual wind Rolex Calibre 1601 movement which is a 20 jewel movement that boasts a 46 hour power reserve. The watch itself comes fitted on a brown alligator leather strap with Tudor pin buckle clasp. 

This Cellini was originally sold in August 2000 and is in mint condition for its age with a few minor marks present on the bezel, and comes supplied with it original green leather Rolex satchel, complete with Rolex Cellini booklet, translation booklet and original Rolex international warranty certificate. This watch is sold with our 12-month SWC warranty.
