Few watches carry the legacy of the Daytona. Rooted in Rolex’s deep connection with motor racing, the Cosmograph name was introduced in 1963 when the tachymeter scale was moved to the bezel for enhanced legibility. By 1965, the Daytona name became permanently associated with the model, cementing its place in horological history. Since then, the Daytona has evolved into one of the most sought-after chronographs in the world, admired for its precision engineering, racing heritage and enduring design.

This two-tone interpretation pairs stainless steel with 18ct yellow gold, delivering both sporting intent and unmistakable presence. The 40mm Oyster case is fitted with a fixed 18ct yellow gold tachymeter bezel engraved with units per hour. The glossy black dial features applied luminous hour markers and hands edged in yellow gold, along with gold-rimmed chronograph sub-dials capable of timing up to 12 hours. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial, while water resistance to 100 metres is secured by the Triplock screw-down crown and screw-down chronograph pushers.

Powering the watch is Rolex’s in-house calibre 4130, a highly respected automatic chronograph movement known for its robustness, precision and streamlined architecture. The watch is completed by the iconic Rolesor Oyster bracelet (stainless steel and 18ct yellow gold) with folding Oysterlock safety clasp.

Originally purchased in August 2021, this example is like new, we are listing it as mint condition, it was only worn for a matter of hours.
