The Rolex Datejust stands as an enduring icon in the realm of luxury timepieces, renowned for its timeless design, precision engineering, and a legacy that spans over seven decades. First introduced in 1945, the Datejust revolutionized the watchmaking industry by being the first self-winding chronometer to display the date in a window on the dial; an innovation that has since become a standard feature in countless watches. Today, the Rolex Datejust continues to epitomize elegance and functionality, embodying the perfect union of form and function.

This iteration of the Datejust, reference the 16220 was launched in 1988 and was produced until the mid-2000’s. It came with a number of upgrades such as solid end lugs, sapphire crystal glass and an upgraded movement. The dial is a clean silver sunburst and features applied silver baton hour markers and the classic date feature at 3 o’clock. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal glass with a cyclops lens for the date. The watch is fitted with a screw-down crown and powered by the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic self-winding mechanism with a quick date-change. Lastly, it is presented on the iconic stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding clasp.

Originally produced circa 1999 and in mint condition for its age, this Datejust comes supplied with its original inner boxes, Oyster booklet, service booklet and service card (June 2018).
