Originally launched in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date President has remained as the brand’s signature luxury watch. Exclusively crafted in precious metals, few luxury watches come close to the prestige, excellence, and timelessness of the Rolex President. When Rolex introduced the Day-Date, it was the first watch include the day of the week written in full at 12 o’clock along with the date window at 3 o’clock. Another hallmark of the Rolex Day-Date is its bracelet, officially named the ‘President’ bracelet. Characterized by its semi-circular links, the President bracelet is almost as famous as the timepiece itself, not to mention the icons who wore one.
This version of the Day-Date, reference 18348 was originally launched in 1988 and was produced until the year 2000. The most noticeable change for this model was the addition of the new calibre 3155 movement which allowed a ‘double quickset’ of the day/date feature, making it even easier to use for the wearer. Coming set in the classic 36mm 18ct yellow gold Oyster case with an opulent factory set diamond bezel and screwdown crown for a water resistance of 10atm (100m/330ft). This watch comes with the rarely seen champagne sunburst dial featuring a pavé set diamond border, Roman numeral hour indexes and matching hands, as well as the classic day/date apertures at 12/3 o'clock. These details are protected by a flat sapphire crystal, with the watch completed by the iconic 18ct yellow gold President bracelet with a concealed folding clasp.
Originally purchased in July 2004 and in unpolished collectors condition, no stretch in the President bracelet and the watch head is immaculate. Has only been worn for a month or so in its life.
Supplied with its original green Rolex hologram caseback sticker intact. Supplied with its original inner box, seal, swing tag, translation booklet, calendar card, large Oyster booklet, small Oyster booklet, Day-Date booklet, leather warranty holder and original perforated warranty certificate.
This Day-Date is sold with our 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.
Due to its age and the unpolished condition the watch it has developed a slight patina which we have left on purpose to preserve its condition. However, should you wish us to polish the watch we are able to do so upon request.
