Rolex Explorer II 'Polar' Unworn, 16570

We are proud to present this exceptional Rolex Explorer II ‘Polar’, reference 16570, offered in unworn stickered condition and fully checked in our workshop.

The Explorer II was created for those who venture beyond ordinary limits. Built for spelunkers, mountaineers and polar expeditions, it introduced a fixed 24-hour bezel and an additional red GMT hand, allowing the wearer to distinguish day from night or track a second time zone in extreme environments. It is a tool watch in the purest sense, functional, legible and uncompromising.

Produced from 1989 until 2011, the reference 16570 has become one of the most balanced and wearable modern sports Rolex models. This example features the highly sought-after crisp white “Polar” dial, contrasted by black-edged luminous hour markers and the signature red 24-hour hand. The fixed stainless steel bezel is engraved with black 24-hour graduations, reinforcing its utilitarian identity.

The watch is housed in a classic 40mm stainless steel Oyster case and protected by a sapphire crystal with Cyclops magnification over the date at 3 o’clock. Powering the watch is the chronometer-certified Rolex calibre 3185 automatic movement, renowned for reliability and precision. It is fitted to a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp.

Presented in rare unworn and stickered condition, originally purchased in January 2002, this Explorer II is supplied with its inner and outer Rolex boxes, punched warranty papers, green leather cardholder, two swing tags and booklet.
