Originally developed in collaboration with Pan American World Airways (Pan Am), the GMT-Master was designed to meet the specific needs of international pilots and frequent travellers. Launched in 1954, the GMT-Master quickly became an icon with its distinctive two-tone bezel, allowing wearers to track multiple time zones simultaneously. The inaugural model, reference 6542, set the stage for a series of evolutions, introducing improvements like the iconic Cyclops lens for enhanced date visibility. Over the years, the GMT-Master has evolved into a symbol of both technical prowess and enduring style, capturing the imagination of adventurers, aviation enthusiasts, and watch connoisseurs alike.

This iteration of the GMT-Master II, reference 116710BLNR was produced from 2013 until 2019 and was the first version of the GMT-Master to have a blue/black ceramic 24-hour bezel. This was a unique colour combination for the GMT-Master series and it has since become known as ‘the Batman’ among collectors. The glossy black 'maxi' dial features Chromalight luminous hour markers and matching hands, edged in white gold to prevent tarnishing. The GMT hand is a contrasting blue and the dial is finished off with the classic date feature at 3 o’clock. These details are protected by a flat a sapphire crystal glass and are powered by the automatic calibre 3186 chronometer movement. Lastly, this BLNR is fitted with a Triplock screwdown crown ensuring its 10atm (100m/330ft) water resistance, and is completed by a stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding safety catch clasp.

Originally sold in May 2014 and in mint condition, supplied as a complete set with its original inner and outer boxes, seal, guarantee booklet, instruction booklet, original receipt and international warranty card.
