Rolex GMT-Master II, 16710

The proudly presents this stunning Rolex GMT-Master II for sale, fully checked and authenticated in our accredited workshop. 

Since its inception in 1954 the Rolex GMT-Master has been the master of the skies and has adorned the wrists of pilots, astronauts and aviation enthusiasts ever since. Originally designed in collaboration with Pan Am Airways, the Rolex GMT-Master was initially created for Pan AM and issued by them to their pilots and crews on long-haul flights. The key feature of the watch was that it allowed the wearer to simultaneously reference two different time zones with its unique 24 hour bi-rotational bezel.

This reference the 16710 was produced from 1989 until 2007 and was the last version of the GMT-Master to have a non-ceramic bezel. This watch is an all original example and features a bi-directional bezel and the less well known 'coke' black/red gmt coloured bezel insert. The glossy black dial is fitted with Superluminova hour markers and hands edged in white gold to prevent tarnishing. The second time-zone hand is a contrasting red and the dial is finished off with the classic date feature at 3 o’clock. Fitted with a sapphire crystal glass and powered by the Rolex 3185 automatic movement on a matching steel Rolex Oyster link bracelet with a folding safety clasp.

Originally purchased September 2002 and in fine condition for its age with a few marks present on the clasp and insert. Supplied with its inner and outer boxes, translation booklet, swing tag, seal, document holder, service card (February 2002) and perforated international warranty paperwork.
