We are proud to present this exceptional Rolex Datejust 31, reference 68248, crafted entirely in solid 18ct yellow gold and offered in excellent condition for its age, having been carefully checked in our workshop.
Since its introduction in 1945, the Rolex Datejust has stood as one of the brand’s most enduring and recognisable models. As the world’s first self-winding chronometer wristwatch to feature an automatically changing date display, it set a new standard in luxury watchmaking. Over the decades, the Datejust has remained a symbol of timeless elegance, technical reliability, and everyday sophistication.
This particular example is a striking full-gold execution of the Datejust 31. The watch is housed in a 31mm solid 18ct yellow gold Oyster case and fitted with the highly desirable 18ct yellow gold Jubilee bracelet, whose five-piece links offer exceptional comfort and a refined, jewellery-like drape on the wrist. The bracelet is secured by a concealed folding Crownclasp, maintaining a clean and seamless appearance.
The standout feature of this watch is its mother-of-pearl dial, which displays natural iridescence and subtle tonal variation depending on the light. The dial is set with diamond dot hour markers, adding refined brilliance while preserving the classic elegance of the Datejust design. The signature date window at 3 o’clock is magnified by Rolex’s Cyclops lens beneath a sapphire crystal.
Powering the watch is Rolex’s automatic chronometer movement, renowned for its durability, accuracy, and long-term reliability. The Oyster case construction and screw-down crown ensure water resistance to 100 metres (330 feet).
Originally purchased in July 1998, this Datejust is supplied with its original Rolex presentation box, punched paper warranty certificate, green leather card holder, and accompanying booklets. Of particular note, this watch benefits from distinguished provenance, having previously belonged to a world-renowned professional tennis champion, adding a discreet and exceptional historical dimension to this timepiece.
