Originally introduced in 1956, the Rolex Milgauss was created for scientists, engineers, and professionals working in environments exposed to high magnetic fields. Its name itself comes from its resistance to 1,000 gauss, a remarkable technical achievement for its time. Over the decades, the Milgauss has remained one of the most individual watches in the Rolex collection, admired for its anti-magnetic capability, its instantly recognisable design, and its more unconventional character when compared with the brand’s other professional models.

This reference 116400GV is the celebrated anniversary version of the Milgauss, instantly set apart by its green sapphire crystal, a feature unique to this model within the Rolex catalogue. Housed in a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel, the watch features a black dial accented by the model’s signature orange lightning-bolt seconds hand, orange minute markers, and luminous baton hour markers with matching hands. The combination of the green crystal and vivid orange details gives the Milgauss a highly distinctive appearance, making it one of Rolex’s most recognisable modern references.

Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3131, an automatic chronometer-rated movement developed with anti-magnetic architecture to support the Milgauss’s specialist purpose. The watch is fitted with a screw-down crown and solid Oyster case construction, ensuring water resistance to 100m / 330ft, and is completed by the classic stainless steel Oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp.

Originally purchased in February 2020, this watch is offered in unworn condition and comes supplied with both inner and outer Rolex boxes, warranty card, swing tag, seal, and two booklets. Rolex clear stickers are still in place.
