In 1931 Rolex patented a self-winding watch movement, this was one of the first movements to be wound through the means of a rotor ‘weight’. This weight moved as the wearer moved their arm and wrist, constantly winding the mechanism. Hence the moniker ‘Perpetual’ as it would be perpetually wound. However, it wasn’t until the 1950’s that we saw the text ‘Oyster Perpetual’ appear on the dials of automatic Rolex watches.

This version the reference 114200 was discontinued in 2020 and is now discontinued. It comes in a solid 34mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel. The dial is a striking blue colour with a sunburst finish and features applied quarter Arabic numerals, baton hour markers with luminous, edged in white gold to prevent tarnishing. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass and the watch is powered by a Rolex in-house calibre 3130 automatic movement. It comes fitted on a matching stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding Oysterlock clasp.

Originally purchased in July 2020 and in mint- like new condition, this Rolex comes with its original inner & outer boxes, swing tag, seal, instruction booklet and international warranty card. This Rolex is under a 5-year warranty until July 2025.
