Emerging from the visionary ingenuity of Rolex's founder, Hans Wilsdorf, the Oyster Perpetual series stands as a pinnacle of horological innovation. In 1931, Rolex achieved a groundbreaking milestone by patenting a self-winding watch movement; the world’s first mechanism to be energized through a rotor 'weight.' This ingenious design allowed the timepiece to harness the motion of the wearer's arm and wrist, ensuring a perpetual winding of the intricate mechanism. The moniker 'Perpetual' aptly reflected this self-sustaining feature. Notably, it wasn't until the 1950s that the appellation 'Oyster Perpetual' graced the dials of automatic Rolex watches, marking a significant era in the evolution of this iconic timekeeping legacy.

This particular piece was given to the winners of the Domino's Pizza Award and features both a commemorative Domino's engraved case back and also has a Domino's motif riveted to the third link of the 6 o'clock side of the bracelet.

This iteration, reference 116000 comes in a solid 36mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel. The dial is a marvellous grey colour with a sunburst finish and features luminous hands and baton hour markers edged in white gold to prevent tarnishing. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass and the watch is powered by a Rolex automatic calibre 3130 chronometer movement. Lastly, It comes fitted on a matching stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding Oysterlock clasp.

Originally sold in July 2018 and in unworn stickered condition, this Rolex comes as a full set with its original inner & outer boxes, swing tag, seal, instruction booklet, warranty booklet, leather card holder and international warranty card.
