In 1931 Rolex patented a self-winding watch movement, this was one of the first movements to be wound through the means of a rotor ‘weight’. This weight moved as the wearer moved their arm and wrist, constantly winding the mechanism. Hence the moniker ‘Perpetual’ as it would be perpetually wound. However, it wasn’t until the 1950’s that we saw the text ‘Oyster Perpetual’ appear on the dials of automatic Rolex watches.

This version the reference 116000 comes in a solid 36mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel. The dial is a marvellous grey colour with a sunburst finish and features applied baton hour markers with luminous, edged in white gold to prevent tarnishing. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass and the watch is powered by a Rolex in-house calibre 3130 automatic movement. It comes fitted on a matching stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding Oysterlock clasp.

Originally purchased in August 2017 and in mint condition, this Rolex comes with its original inner & outer boxes, swing tag, seal, instruction booklet, warranty booklet, leather card holder and international warranty card. It is under Rolex warranty until August 2022, however it would also be covered for 12 months under it's SWC warranty. Please be advised there is a minor mark to the outer box lid.
