Emerging from the visionary ingenuity of Rolex's founder, Hans Wilsdorf, the Oyster Perpetual series stands as a pinnacle of horological innovation. In 1931, Rolex achieved a groundbreaking milestone by patenting a self-winding watch movement; the world’s first mechanism to be energized through a rotor 'weight.' This ingenious design allowed the timepiece to harness the motion of the wearer's arm and wrist, ensuring a perpetual winding of the intricate mechanism. The moniker 'Perpetual' aptly reflected this self-sustaining feature. Notably, it wasn't until the 1950s that the appellation 'Oyster Perpetual' graced the dials of automatic Rolex watches, marking a significant era in the evolution of this iconic timekeeping legacy.

This iteration, reference 114300, comes set in a solid 39mm stainless steel Oyster case fitted with a smooth polished bezel. This timepiece showcases a beautiful grape coloured sunburst dial, accentuated by a contrasting white minute track and red square highlights, as well as luminous baton hour markers and hands, both bordered in white gold to prevent tarnishing. The dial's integrity is preserved by a flat sapphire crystal glass, while a screwdown crown ensures water resistance up to 10atm(100m/330ft). Driven by the automatic calibre 3132 chronometer movement and secured by a stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding Oysterlock clasp. 

Originally purchased in January 2018 and in mint condition, this Rolex comes with its original inner & outer boxes, seal, swing tag, instruction booklet, guarantee manual, leather card holder and international warranty card.
