Emerging from the visionary ingenuity of Rolex's founder, Hans Wilsdorf, the Oyster Perpetual series stands as a pinnacle of horological innovation. In 1931, Rolex achieved a groundbreaking milestone by patenting a self-winding watch movement; the world’s first mechanism to be energized through a rotor 'weight.' This ingenious design allowed the timepiece to harness the motion of the wearer's arm and wrist, ensuring a perpetual winding of the intricate mechanism. The moniker 'Perpetual' aptly reflected this self-sustaining feature. Notably, it wasn't until the 1950s that the appellation 'Oyster Perpetual' graced the dials of automatic Rolex watches, marking a significant era in the evolution of this iconic timekeeping legacy.

This version of the Oyster Perpetual, reference 124300, was first introduced in September 2020 and was recently discontinued. It comes set in a 41mm stainless steel case fitted with a smooth polished bezel and features a beautiful blue sunburst dial with Chromalight luminous baton hour markers and matching hands. Protecting the dial is a flat sapphire crystal glass, with the 10atm (100m/330ft) water resistance ensured by a Twinlock screwdown crown. Powering the watch is the automatic calibre 3230 chronometer movement, which is safeguarded by a solid screwdown caseback. Lastly, the watch is completed by a stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with folding Oysterclasp.

Originally purchased in 2025 and in unworn partially stickered condition, this Oyster Perpetual comes with its original inner and outer boxes, green seal, swing tag, instruction booklet, guarantee booklet, original purchase invoice and international warranty card.

This Oyster Perpetual is covered by it's under Rolex’s 5-year warranty until 2029.
