Emerging from the visionary ingenuity of Rolex's founder, Hans Wilsdorf, the Oyster Perpetual series stands as a pinnacle of horological innovation. In 1931, Rolex achieved a groundbreaking milestone by patenting a self-winding watch movement; the world’s first mechanism to be energized through a rotor 'weight.' This ingenious design allowed the timepiece to harness the motion of the wearer's arm and wrist, ensuring a perpetual winding of the intricate mechanism. The moniker 'Perpetual' aptly reflected this self-sustaining feature. Notably, it wasn't until the 1950s that the appellation 'Oyster Perpetual' graced the dials of automatic Rolex watches, marking a significant era in the evolution of this iconic timekeeping legacy.

This version of the Oyster Perpetual, reference 124300, was first introduced in September 2020 and comes set in a 41mm stainless steel case fitted with a smooth polished bezel. Its green dial features Chromalight luminous baton hour markers and matching hands. Protecting the dial is a flat sapphire crystal glass, with the 10atm (100m/330ft) water resistance ensured by a Twinlock screwdown crown. Powering the watch is the automatic calibre 3230 chronometer movement, which is safeguarded by a solid screwdown caseback. Lastly, the watch is completed by a stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with folding Oysterclasp.

Originally purchased in 2021 and in mint condition, coming supplied as a full set with its original inner and outer boxes, seal, instruction booklet, guarantee booklet, leather warranty holder, and original international warranty card.
