The Oyster Perpetual Date was first launched in the late 1950s and was one of the first watches to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial, fulfilling Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf’s dreams of producing timepieces that were not only beautiful to look at but were also highly useful and functional. 

This model reference 79160 was produced from the late 1990's until the mid-late 2000’s and is presented in a polished stainless steel 26mm Oyster case with solid lugs and a Twinlock screw-down crown. The bezel is the smooth polished variation with a clean white dial with Arabic numeral hour markers at two, four, six, eight and ten and luminous hour markers at one, five, seven, nine and eleven. The hands are the classic ‘stick’ style and the dial is finished off with the date feature at 3 o’clock with a magnifying cyclops lens for increased legibility. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal glass and is powered by the Rolex calibre 2235 automatic, chronometer certified movement and comes fitted on its original matching satin finish stainless steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding clasp.

Originally purchased in January 2004 and in fine condition for its age, with light marks on the clasp. This Rolex comes with a inner and outer boxes, swing tag and seal, Oyster Perpetual Date booklet, leather warranty holder and perforated original Rolex warranty paperwork. This Date is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC.
