The Oyster Perpetual Date was first launched in the late 1950s and was one of the first watches to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial, fulfilling Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf’s dreams of producing timepieces that were not only beautiful to look at but also highly functional. 

This model reference 79160 was produced from the late 1990's until the mid-late 2000’s and is presented in a polished stainless steel 26mm Oyster case with solid lugs and a Twinlock screw-down crown. The bezel is the smooth polished variation with a clean black dial with applied baton indicators with luminous dots, matching hands and the classic date aperture at 3 o'clock. The watch is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal glass with cyclops for the date, and is powered by the automatic calibre 2235 chronometer certified movement. Lastly, this Oyster Perpetual Date comes fitted on the classic stainless steel Jubilee bracelet with a folding clasp.

Originally purchased in February 2005 and in mint condition for its age, coming supplied with its original inner and outer boxes, swing tag, seal, Oyster Perpetual Date booklet, translation booklet, calendar card, leather warranty holder, service booklet, Rolex service card and perforated original Rolex warranty paperwork.
