We are proud to present this stylish vintage Rolex Oyster Precision for sale in mint condition for its age, fully checked and authenticated in our accredited workshop.

The Rolex Oyster, introduced in 1926, revolutionized watchmaking as the world's first waterproof wristwatch. It was created by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf, who aimed to design a timepiece capable of withstanding dust, moisture, and pressure, all common challenges for wristwatches of the time. The Oyster case featured a hermetically sealed construction with a screw-down bezel, case back, and winding crown, ensuring durability and water resistance. Its performance was famously demonstrated in 1927 when Mercedes Gleitze swam across the English Channel wearing the watch, solidifying Rolex's reputation for precision and reliability.

This version of the Oyster, reference 6426, was first introduced in the 1950's and was produced well into the 1980's, coming set in the classic 34mm stainless steel Oyster case with smooth polished bezel. The original and rarely seen silver 'linen' dial features applied baton hour indexes and matching baton hands. These details are protected by an acrylic plexi glass and is powered by the manually wound calibre 1220 movement. Lastly, the watch is completed by a matching stainless steel Oyster bracelet with matching Oyster clasp. 

Originally sold in December 1974 and in mint condition for its age, supplied with a Rolex service pouch, original purchase receipt and original international warranty certificate.
