Rolex Sea-Dweller 'Triple 6', 16660

We are proud to present this impressive Rolex Sea-Dweller watch for sale, fully checked and authenticated in our accredited workshop. 

The Sea-Dweller was originally developed in 1967 to compliment the already popular Submariner collection, the Sea-Dweller was developed originally for saturation divers working for SeaLab who were spending a lot longer underwater than your casual Submariner wearer. Because of those extreme conditions and depths, the divers noticed that the crystal would pop out of the case during decompression due to the helium particles in the case. So, Rolex developed the Helium release valve under their patent and thus the Sea-Dweller was born.

This version of the infamous Sea-Dweller, reference 16660 was produced between 1978 - 1989 and comes set in the classic 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with pin-hole lugs and a uni-rotational bezel with divers scale black bezel insert. The matte black dial features contrasting painted tritium hour markers with the iconic ‘Mercedes’ hands and a date window at 3 o’clock, with these details protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass (no-cyclops). The watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 3035 automatic chronometer movement and is water resistant to 122atm (1220m/4000ft) thanks to its screwdown crown and extra robust Oyster case with a Helium release valve at 9 o’clock. Lastly, it comes fitted on a brushed steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding clasp with safety catch.

This Sea-Dweller was originally purchased in September 1984 and in fine condition, coming supplied with its original Rolex inner & outer box, green document wallet, Submariner booklet, translation booklet, Rolex service documents (1987) and original perforated international warranty certificate. 

This Rolex is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC.
