Rolex Sea-Dweller 'Triple 6', 16660

We are proud to present this impressive Rolex Sea-Dweller 'Triple Six' for sale in mint condition, fully checked and authenticated in our on site workshop. 

The Sea-Dweller was originally developed in 1967 to compliment the already popular Submariner collection, the Sea-Dweller was developed originally for saturation divers working for SeaLab who were spending a lot longer underwater than your casual Submariner wearer. Because of those extreme conditions and depths, the divers noticed that the crystal would pop out of the case during decompression due to the helium particles in the case. So, Rolex developed the Helium release valve under their patent and thus the Sea-Dweller was born.

This version of the infamous Sea-Dweller, reference 16660 was produced between 1978 - 1989 and comes set in the classic 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with pin-hole lugs and a uni-rotational bezel with divers scale black bezel insert. The dial is a glossy black colour with contrasting tritium hour markers edged in white gold, unlike the earlier models of the 16660 which featured a matte dial and painted hour markers. The dial is finished off with the iconic ‘Mercedes’ hands and a date window at 3 o’clock, which are protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass (no-cyclops). The watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 3035 automatic chronometer movement and is water resistant to 122atm (1220m/4000ft) thanks to its screwdown crown and extra robust Oyster case with a Helium release valve at 9 o’clock. Lastly, it comes fitted on a brushed steel Oyster link bracelet with a folding clasp with safety catch.

This Sea-Dweller was originally produced in 1984 and is in mint condition for its age, coming supplied with its original Rolex inner & outer box, green document wallet, translation booklet and Rolex service documents (2012 / 2014).
