The Rolex Submariner can easily be described as one of Rolex's most famous designs and is considered one of the most popular diving watches ever created. When first launched back in the early 1950s, this was the first-ever watch to be water-resistant to 300m and set the standard for what a diving watch should be both in functionality and style.

It wasn’t until 1967 that the Submariner got its now iconic date feature with the model reference 1680. This is a later version of that same watch without the red Submariner text. It comes set in a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with a bi-rotational bezel (original black insert). The dial is a Mark I matte black dial featuring dot hour markers (non-luminous) and (new Rolex replacement) luminous hand set with a date feature at 3 o’clock. The dial is protected by an acrylic plexi-glass (called a top-hat because of its raised profile) and the watch is powered by the Rolex calibre 1570 automatic movement. The watch comes fitted on a (modern) tapered Oyster link bracelet with folding sports clasp.

Originally from circa 1979 and in fine condition for its age, this Submariner comes with a Rolex green service pouch and a 24 month warranty from the Swiss Watch Company.
