The Rolex Submariner can easily be described as one of Rolex's most famous designs and is considered one of the most popular diving watches ever created. The first watch to be water-resistant to 300m (1000ft) which has helped the timepiece to become one of the most successful diver’s watches in history. A perfect blend of functionality and style, the submariner makes for a truly great watch. It wasn’t until 1984, over three decades after the launch of the Submariner that we saw the first two-tone steel and gold version of the Submariner and it has been part of the Submariner Date collection ever since.
This version the reference 116613LB was just discontinued on the 1st of September 2020, is set in a solid 40mm Oystersteel case with an immaculate blue Cerachrom uni-rotational bezel, featuring gold numerals and minute markers to 15. It has a matching flat blue dial fitted with Chromalight luminous hour markers and hands, edged in yellow gold for maximum visibility and date feature at 3 o’clock with a cyclops lens finish the dial details. Water resistant up to 300M thanks to the Triplelock screw-down crown and fitted on the iconic steel and gold combination Oyster link bracelet with the Glidelock clasp system. It is powered by the Rolex chronometer calibre 3135 automatic self-winding mechanism with the patented Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring.
Originally purchased in November 2013 and in mint condition, complete with its original inner and outer boxes, seal, instruction booklet and international warranty card. This Submariner is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC.
Now, no longer available from Rolex, this would be a great piece for any Rolex collection.
