For any watch to have to follow on from the 5513 it was always going to be tough. But upon the release of the 14060 in 1990 Submariner enthusiasts were treated to a truly modern version of their beloved classic. The 14060 was upgraded over time and was replaced by the 14060M which, while being very similar was different on the inside and on the dial. While the date feature with a cyclops lens has always polarized fans of the model, the non-date offers a pure, symmetrical divers watch experience that is clear and legible whatever conditions the watch is faced with.

This version the 14060M sticks to the classic 40mm stainless steel Oyster case fitted with a flat sapphire crystal glass with the now iconic patented Triple-lock crown for water resistance up to 300M, the dial remained black but the Tritium luminous hour markers were replaced by Superluminova luminous ones and were edged in white gold for the first time, to delay the onset of patina and keep them luminous for longer as well as keeping the classic Mercedes hands. Unlike the 14060 the dial now features four lines of text, “Submariner”, “1000ft=300m”, “Superlative Chronometer” and “Officially Certified” that informs the wearer of the upgraded mechanism inside. Powered by the improved chronometer calibre 3130 automatic movement and fitted on a matching 904L steel Oyster bracelet with diver’s extension clasp.

Originally purchased in July 2011 and in mint condition, this Submariner comes with its original inner and outer boxes, swing tag, Submariner booklet, leather card holder and international warranty card. This Submariner is sold with a 12-month warranty from the date of sale. Always collectable this watch would be perfect for any Rolex enthusiast.
