The Rolex Submariner, first introduced in 1953, is a legendary timepiece with a rich history deeply intertwined with the world of diving. Originally designed as a professional diver's watch, and soon becoming the first watch to achieve a water resistance of 30atm (300m/1000ft), the Submariner quickly gained iconic status for its exceptional durability, precision, and distinctive aesthetic. Over the years, it has evolved while maintaining its core attributes, becoming a symbol of both underwater exploration and timeless elegance. With its robust construction and technological innovations, the Rolex Submariner continues to be a sought-after classic, embodying a legacy of horological excellence and adventure.

A must-see for vintage Rolex fans, this Submariner comes set in the classic 40mm solid stainless steel Oyster case with pin-hole lugs. It has the classic black bi-rotational (pre-bezel ratchet) bezel insert with contrasting silver divers scale. The matte black service dial features 'meters' first dial printing, as well as tritium hour markers and hands which have aged nicely and have developed a lovely creamy patina. The dial is protected by a domed acrylic plexi-glass and the watch is fitted with a screw-down crown for a water resistance of 20atm (200m/660ft). Lastly, the watch is completed by a riveted stainless steel Oyster bracelet with crown folding clasp.

Originally produced in 1968 and in fine condition for its age, sold with our SWC branded watch roll, SWC authenticity card and our 12-month warranty from the date of purchase.
